BaZi / Paht Chee: Wood-related careers

So you’ve been advised to find a Wood-related job: how do you know what industries, fields and careers fall under the purview of Wood?

The main focus of Wood is growth - isn’t it the nature of plants to grow, upwards, towards the light?

In a similar vein, since the principles of growth and progress figure prominently in the education field, if you are a teacher, tutor, coach and the like, involved in helping others upwards, you’re part of the Wood business.  Of course, if you’re a SCUBA diving instructor, your job would be a mix of Wood and Water, wouldn’t it?

By healing the sick and setting the unhealthy onto the road to health, thus paving the way for the patients’ proper growth, medical and healthcare practitioners are in Wood-related careers.

BaZi / Paht Chee: Water-related careers

So you’ve been advised to find a Water-related job: how do you know what industries, fields and careers fall under the purview of Water?

First, let’s think about the characteristics of Water:  represents creativity and intelligence; always moving; deep and powerful; cleansing.

Some Water-related professions are obvious:

  • fisherman
  • fish rearing
  • mineral water bottling
  • soft drink industry
  • marine biology
